Moorea or Aimeho is only a 30 minutes boat trip away from Tahiti and easily reached from Papeete. It is a beautiful green island with towering peaks, lush mountain slopes, many scenic rivers and pretty waterfalls. Its northern shore is calm and filled with water bungalow styled accommodations, resorts and other tourist facilities. Its fertile valleys are covered in pineapple and vanilla plantations with a constant backdrop of steep rugged mountains.

One of the highlights in Moorea is an island circle tour that will bring you to some of its most astonishing spots. A ride through the interior of Moorea, across Mount Rotui, will bring you to the spectacular waterfalls of Afareaitu. From Belvedere Viewpoint you have excellent views across Cook Bay (Paopao Bay) and Opunohu Bay (Baie de Cook and Baie d'Opunohu) where activities such as canoeing, horseback riding, sailing, glass bottom boat tours and boat cruising are popular. Other touristic towns well worth a visit are Maharepa, Papetoai and Haapiti. You can visit Moorea's highest point at Mount Toheia, Hauru's point or visit some of the better white sanded beaches near Temae and Haapiti.

Its crystal clear inner lagoon, referred to as Moorea Lagoon, is great for scuba diving, snorkeling and other water activities while its outer reef offers action thrilled walls with sharks and large pelagic species. Moorea is blessed with an incredible reef and an enormous rich sea life. Snorkelers are extremely lucky here since most dive sites are perfect for snorkeling as well. You can swim with dolphins, almost touch the many stingrays inside the lagoon or drift dive your way around one of its channels. July to October is a popular time to spot whale sharks giving birth. The beauty of Moorea lies in its fact that it is well established for tourists but still retaining its original beauty.
